Devil’s Millhopper in Gainesville is a true Florida’s hidden gem. I love to research and visit hidden places while traveling. Last month, I went on a road trip in the new Volkswagen Beetle Denim with a friend. I came across the Devil’s Millhopper during my search and knew I had to visit. I mean this place just looks like something out of a fairy tale!
Devil’s Millhopper is a 120 feet deep limestone sinkhole. The wooden boardwalk goes down 212 steps to the bottom of the sinkhole. I missed hiking so much, this hike was much needed. I had a chance to hike in so many beautiful places during my Arizona & Nevada trips. Now I’m on the hunt to find more hiking spots in Florida.
If you ever get a chance to visit Devil’s Millhopper, take the time to look around in every corner and really listen to the nature around you. Make sure to take water, some snacks and stay for a while.
