I was in a dire need of a vacation. So when my friends suggested a mini getaway to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the 4th of July week, this gal did not hesitate. We were literally going for three days, so I wanted to pack light. I started to make a list, and found it quite helpful.
Ok honestly I packed more than the list. But it’s really helpful to know the essentials to pack. That way, you pack the right stuff first. Start with picking your favorite, breezy beach dress like the one from ModCloth’s Say high-low to you little dress and pick a bikini top and bottom that suits your body type and a color that compliments your skin tone. A roomy beach bag is a must to carry all the lovely things you need at the beach, I love the one from DSW Kelly & Katie Rope Handle Tote. The American flag beach towel is so cute and patriotic, you can find it at Kohl’s online. A sexy floppy hat is perfect for some added sun protection. Pack a comfortable sandal, a pair of sunglasses, and a water bottle to keep yourself dehydrated. Try to keep your makeup to a minimum by using waterproof and sweat proof makeup. For a naturally flushed look, try the Benetint lip balm. It has such a pretty subtle rosy color!
I naturally have a very tan skin. It’s really hard to find a sunblock lotion that won’t leave any white cast or disgusting shine. After numerous research online (I could get a doctorate on sunblock) I found that the Hawaiian Tropic Shimmer Effect SPF 20 is the best option for the tanned individuals . It’s waterproof and promises to stay on for 80 minutes. I frolicked on the beach, had long walks and rode a Jetski like a pro but that shimmer stayed on. Btw, the subtle shimmer kinda made me feel like a vampire..an added bonus? I think so.
