Benefits & Safely Tips on FDA-Approved Restylane® Lyft & Restylane® Silk November 3, 2015
Disclaimer: This post is sponsored by Restylane® Lyft and Restylane® Silk. However, the thoughts and opinions are my own.
No more smile lines, thin lips, or hollow cheekbones. Restylane® Lyft, the first and only FDA approved filler for cheek augmentation and the correction of moderate to severe smile lines (nasolabial folds), and Restylane® Silk provide subtle, natural-looking treatments to give our gracefully aging face some oomph that we lose over time.
I had reservations about procedures that can show a major difference on your face. I have seen celebrity pictures and friends with very obvious “work done” face that can be quite scary. But have you ever wondered, what about the ones who has subtle work done that you can never tell! You keep asking yourself, what’s her secret? Well let me tell you. I was there to experience first-hand how the Restylane® procedure works and what it can do for you. It was quite exciting because I wanted to learn the secret to beautiful lips. I’m all about the lips, who doesn’t want fuller lips, right?
So how does it work? Restylane® Lyft and Restylane® Silk are made with clear gels with hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid is specifically formulated to blend naturally with our body’s own hyaluronicacid. Restylane Lyft augments the cheeks and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth. Restylane Silk helps to add fullness to the lips at the same time minimizing small lines around the lip area.
Photos of 32 year old (top) and 46-year-old (below) patients treated with Restylane-L® and Restylane® Silk. Both treated with 2 ml of Restylane® Silk in the lips and perioral lines and 1 ml of Restylane-L® in the nasolabial folds.
First of all the procedure does use needles, but fear not, your doctor may use numbing cream on the area before the procedure. From the patients we observed, they said that it feels like a pinch because of the pressure of the needle. The individual procedure takes minutes and is pain-free. You can actually make a lunch break appointment and go back to work the same day. Follow up sessions are normally recommended every 6 to 12 months. The Restylane® Silk lips treatment lasts less than 6 months.
It was great to see how the products work up close and personal. This simple procedure is good to get done when you notice you need a little fullness on the cheeks or lips. I’m definitely thinking about making an appointment soon to make my upper lip a little plumper. At this point, I like to overdraw my lips and use matte lipstick for the fullness illusion. But with this procedure the lips will instantly look plump and healthy.
