Uhh Black Friday, I had such great expectations for you!! It started out as a great day. The weather was chilly, the roads were clear and I was super excited. My sister (little girl in a big world!) and I headed down to Lincoln Road to shop at H&M for black Friday. We went a little early, and expected to wait in line for their 12:00 am store opening.
There’s a Starbucks right across from H&M. We made plans to drink coffee and wait to see when people were going to line up. We really didn’t want to be the first ones waiting in line. The moment we saw couple of girls literally sitting in front of the H&M door, and 5 people behind them we got up and stood right behind them. It was around 8:00pm. The line at first didn’t grow too fast. We had the occasional people walking by and making fun of us for standing there to buy clothes. Whatever, I was excited to buy some dresses and shirts for $5 each, those people didn’t bother me. The line slowly started to get long, and at one point the mall security had to come and straighten the line up. It was now 11:00pm.
Totally forgot to mention a crucial detail. All those time we waited in line, we didn’t see one single person inside the store. Everyone was thinking the employees would probably get there late, because everything inside looked neat and organized. It was around 11:30pm, when everyone actually started to panic a little and spread rumors about the store and that it would actually open at 8:00am.
It was now 12:00am, we were all ready to get our shop on. But again, no movement, now people were pissed. At one point, some rowdy kids wanted to bang on the windows and create problems. There were some cops there, but they didn’t really know what was going on either. Now, everyone was in an investigation mode. People started calling the corporate, commenting on H&M Facebook calling other H&Ms to find answers. Around 12:30am, the lights inside the store turned on. You should of heard the people rejoicing, we were clapping and getting excited just cause the lights turned on.
Well, I don’t know why the lights turned on but there still wasn’t any movement inside. It was all a joke or something. At that point I was seriously frustrated. In my head, all I was thinking was that – I’m here already let me just wait 30 more minutes. That’s when the girl who was on the phone with corporate told us that they are opening at 8:00am. I was done, my sister and I left the place and headed straight home. H&M completely let us down.
When we got home, we took a quick nap and planned on going to Love Culture. The deals at Love Culture was insane. I got gorgeous tops for $3.99 and skirts and pants for $6.99. Got out of there with two full bags totaling $65.00. I also stopped by Sephora for their awesome black Friday deals, and picked up a Philosophy face wash and Stila make up kit for just $20.00.
Overall, the experience was not what I expected. Thankfully, it ended with me finding some great deals. I suggest H&M at Lincoln road next year – really plan out your sale. They had a lot of people disappointed this year. BOooOOoOOooo…don’t worry I’ll get over it ;)
Aww that sucks :( I guess lucky for me I did most of my Black Friday shopping online so I missed out on that but atleast you looked good in your outfit right? Loving the lace shoulder cut outs on your shirt too by the way.
