Travel Eats: Thistle Lodge in Sanibel, Florida October 4, 2015
If you’re visiting Sanibel Island anytime soon, you have to stop by the old-fashioned chic Thistle Lodge at Casa Ybel Resort. Or better yet, I recommend staying at the Casa Ybel Resort. You can’t beat the mile long ocean view, lush lawns, and all the amazing amenities at this spacious resort.
At the Thistle Lodge, you will find quaint sitting areas with views overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Thistle Lodge provides an award winning menu with a blend of Floridian, European and Asian flavors. Chef Jamie at the Thistle Lodge served us their popular dishes to try. Every single dish was bursting with island flavors. The beachfront salad had me hooked. I tried recreating the dish, but no luck yet. My attempt missed some key flavors. Keep scrolling to see the delicious foods we were served for lunch.
